THE best 3rd party mod for Half-Life. Go check it out tbh, it's damn good

Natural Selection is a hybrid first-person/real-time strategy game. There is a resource model, a tech tree, structures and upgrades, just like a traditional RTS (like Starcraft or Command and Conquer). It is mostly played in first-person, but one player can become the Commander and plays from a top-down perspective.
The aliens must kill all the marines and their infantry portals. The marines must kill all the aliens and their hives. That's the only goal. Aliens start with one hive and can build up to two more.
Click the Game Info link at the top to find out about it. It's well worth getting as Goody already knows
You will probably find it extremely hard, and possibly annoying to play at first, but don't worry -- it's a difficult game to start. I suggest you play as marines alot to get used to the game, so then you can do what the commander asks. Playing as aliens or commanding marines requires more game knowledge. It's the kind of game that, once you get used to it, you'll love it.
Be sure to configure the game when you install it!
By this, I mean more than just name and logo. Be sure you've configured keyboard buttons. I've got something set for everything apart from Last weapon used, and the alien shortcuts (use the right-click menu for that).
You should probably play on the following server, as it is strictly for learners only (apart from the Commander, who is normally experianced).
Kryptic Korps #3 - NS Learning Server - 217.158.150.43:27055
You will often find me at Wireplay UK NS [Classictastic][NS Only] - 195.224.41.48:27015
Those two servers only use the NS type maps, which are "classic" natural selection types, and in my opinion, better maps. There are servers that also use CO type maps, which are "combat" maps. Stick to one while your learning, the game has ALOT to take in. _________________ Thanks,

I've been playing it so much at wireplay The good thing about that server is when there are no humans, 2 bots join the alien team -- at that point I can practise commanding _________________ Thanks,

For you NS newcomers, here is a community-made game manual which is very in-depth and up to date. May take a while to read, but the game does have alot to take in -- belive me, it's worth it. _________________ Thanks,
